The past financial year brought a positive development for many commercial groups in the construction industry in Germany.

In the comparison of 2016 with the previous year, the Federal Statistical Office found an improvement in the turnover and employment situation in the trades. An average increase in sales by 3 percent was calculated on the basis of the sales tax advance notification. In addition, the number of employees increased slightly by 0.1 percent.

For the construction industry, sales rose by 2.1 per cent. The number of employees grew by 0.2 percent over the same period. Under the construction industry, trades are combined which, in addition to construction work, also provide maintenance and renovation work.

In the construction sector, sales increased by 2.9 percent. At the same time, the number of persons employed rose by 0.5 per cent.
